The second core event of the SWA season will be remembered on many levels as the event that Keeno lost his mystique.. However it's also worth mentioning what an awesome weekend it really was!

Despite the cold, a keen set of beginners, intermediates and advanced sailors took to the water on Saturday morning with a smile on their face and the wind in their hair. Whilst not exactly howling, the conditions made for perfect beginner/intermediate cruising and an advanced race circuit that especially challenged those determined not to fall into the icy depths! All the beginners received 'top tips & structured advice' from the Nottingham committee whilst the intermediates set a fast a vicious pace round the race mark and back. The top spot was clinched by JD from UWE, Bristol after a somewhat unsporting collision incident at the upwind mark, its just not cricket! The Advanced fleet was high-octane stuff with the new Tushingham Express's looking amazing on the water and Sam Stevens (SWA-Team) kicking ass.

Plenty of comradeship and mugs of hot tea interspersed the windsurfing, whilst on the water sailors were taking on Bigbob's speed challenge with aplomb.

Saturday night saw a beautiful takeaway pizza for every single entrant followed by table dancing, naked boat racing and drunken debauchery which took place at the lovely local social club! The party theme was 'Action Men and Barbie Dolls'; prompting frequent aggressive silly string and water gun bombardments, alongside their subsequent squeals of laughter/rage!

Sunday morning arrived and so did the free-sailing, topping off a lively-if-a-little-mincing-prone event of Rutland fun. Congratulations to Nottingham for another great one and to all who came: especially Mark from Boardwise who made the pilgrimage despite not feeling well!
