Once upon a time in a far away land (Angelsey), a small clan of the pretty-ish windsurfers known as the SWA team happened upon a wave competition...little did they know what was in store....
A shocking forecast predicted no wind and no waves...but still me, Sarah and SJ still managed to make the long drive north to Rhosneigr. After a back breaking 8 hour drive up, we arrived at the Llandudno dry ski slope on the friday afternoon...to be greeted by the UKWA and funsport team...and an already lit bbq with a stack of free beers!
Friday night was then spent snowboarding/skiing and toboggoning to our hearts content...with plenty of crashes and some entertaining jumping of the big kicker!
Saturday saw a paddle/float race out to starvation island and plenty of turfdogging on the beach, followed by a buffet and some drunken didgeridoo and britney spears on the eukalalee (by John 'the rock' Hibbard- now a.k.a the music man)
Sunday brought yet more sun but no wind so goody bags were handed out containing some sweet freebies and most of us left for the joyus drive home!
A brilliant event put on with such a poor windsurfing weather, thanks go out to the UKWA and Funsport guys who made it happen, also to the pros who turned up despite the forecast! .... some say it almost rivaled an SWA event....
Next event/trip for us I belive is the beach break live in cornwall sometime in june!

N.B. if planing on driving to rhosneigr dont go via the M4 and M5 especially in a van (chris, adam, sj and sam) unless you like driving for 13 hours...
